OUR MISSION
Classic Choreography, LLC has a three-fold mission:
- Enhance: The performance and artistry of student-athletes through infusing specialized gymnastics dance techniques.
- Encourage: The self-confidence of student-athletes through positive interaction to advance their artistic expression/presentation.
- Educate: Student-Athletes and Coaches about the importance of artistry and performance in the gymnastics community.
About the President/Choreographer of Classic Choreography, LLC
Shamisa Ingram, MA
Shamisa Ingram has over two decades of gymnastics experience. She has extensive experience as a gymnast, coach, choreographer, and judge. In 1991, Ms. Ingram began her career in competitive gymnastics as a level 5 gymnast in Northern California; within 3.5 years she achieved the ranking of a level 10 gymnast. She competed nationwide as a level 9 and level 10 gymnast and was a USAG J.O. Regional Qualifier, YMCA National Floor Finalist, and NAIGC National Floor Finalist.
Ms. Ingram has diverse dance skills: ballet and choreography. As a choreographer, she has over 10 years of experience. Since 2003, she has choreographed specialized gymnastics floor routines and/or coached gymnasts in California, Georgia, Texas, Utah, Illinois, and Indiana. Ms. Ingram utilizes creative dance processes to accentuate and to extend a gymnast's natural dance ability. Her mission is to distinguish each gymnast's unique style.
Ms. Ingram has experience coaching competitive gymnastics teams (levels 4-10). She is currently a member of the National Association of Women's Gymnastics Judges (NAWGJ) and holds a Level 10 rating. Ms. Ingram has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Spelman College and a Master of Arts degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
